Francis J. Dvorak

Francis (Frank) Dvorak, 78 of Palm Coast, Florida passed away on Feb 5, 2024 after a brief illness at advent health. He was born on July 13, 1945 in mt Vernon, NY to Francis V. and Bertha Dvorak of the Bronx, NY. In 1950 the family moved to Yonkers NY where they resided until Francis Sr. death in 1975.

Growing up Frank and his family were active parishioners of St. Eugene’s where he served as an altar boy. As a boy he had an avid love of baseball as well as being a loyal boy scout. Upon graduating high school in 1963, Frank attended manhattan technical school where he received a degree in drafting. Taking is mothers advice, he decided to work for New York telephone in which she retired from in the 1940’s. a year later he enlisted in the navy and for 2 years traveled the world on the USS Calcaterra. When he was discharged in 1968, he married JoAnn Lancaster of Montrose NY and four years later a set of twins came along. Wanting to better his career as well as helping his new family, Frank decided to go to night school to become an engineer with New York Telephone.

In 1976 the family upgraded their home by moving to Mahopac, NY where they lived for the next 24 years. In 2000 Frank and JoAnn retired and moved to Palm Coast, Florida to pursue love of the outdoors including boating, golf, and just puttering around the house. They both enjoyed the yearly visits from their granddaughters and loved to see them in their pool. Frank and Joann were devout catholic parishioners attending St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Palm Coast, Florida. Prior to his wife Joanns death in 2012, Frank was tentative to her care, even going on several cruises together.

In 2012 Frank met Donna Horton of Port Orange, Florida in which the couple became inseparable enjoying bingo and cruising together. His fiancé, Donna, sadly passed away two weeks before his passing due to a brief illness.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Francis V. and Bertha Dvorak, as well as his sister Nancy Dvorak. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Joanna and Steve Finelli of Palm Coast, Florida, his son, daughter-in-law, and two granddaughters, Frank, Jr, Nicole, Samantha, Alexandra Dvorak of Lake Carmel, NY as well as extended family and loved ones. Special recognition given to Angie Copeland (Jimmy) & family, and Leslie Knight (Josh) and family.

A visitation for Francis will be held Tuesday, February 13, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Craig Flagler Palms Funeral Home, 511 Old Kings Road South, Flagler Beach, Florida 32136. A visitation will occur Tuesday, February 13, 2024 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, 511 Old Kings Road South, Flagler Beach, Florida 32136. A church visitation will occur Thursday, February 15, 2024 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at St Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 4600 Belle Terre Parkway, Palm Coast, Florida 32174. A funeral mass will occur Thursday, February 15, 2024 at 1:30 PM at St Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 4600 Belle Terre Parkway, Palm Coast, Florida 32174.
