Ilena was born to military veterans Sam and Leona Koffsky and grew up in West Islip New York with her brothers Gary and Mitchell. After High School Ilena worked long hours in the hospitality industry and eventually went to school at Jackson State in Mississippi where she earned a degree in recreational therapy. She spent 30 years working for United Cerebral Palsy in Roosevelt New York. Her joy in life was helping others and it was unwavering. She was a compassionate, caring and giving person. Ilena's brother Gary, his wife Lisa along with her sister in law Ronni and her husband Stavros, supported her during her courageous multi year battle with cancer until her peaceful passing. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews Megan, Amy, Zachary, Victoria, Sarah, Eric, Stephen, Ashley and great niece Harper Rose as well as her extended family and many friends.
