Joseph (Joe) Eugene Mikita Jr, 73, of Palm Coast, Florida formerly of Trumbull, Connecticut passed away on Saturday, October 29, 2022 due to complications from Acute Myelomonocytic Leukemia. Born on November 7, 1948 Joe was a graduate of Trumbull High School and dedicated his profession to United Technologies Corporation for over 40 years working in Engineering as a design checker of the Turbine component systems. He is survived by his wife of 40 years Victoria Bosco Mikita and his children, Joseph Mikita IV and his wife Rene Poole, Cheri Mikita Frey and husband Tommy, Chrisy Mikita D'Errico and husband James and grandchildren James and Ali and stepson Ross Bosco and wife Joann and grandchildren Anthony, Dominick, Olivia and Angellina and step-daughter Laura Bosco Sicignano and sons Carmen Jr. and Nicholas. He was predeceased by his parents, Agnes and Joseph Mikita and step-son-in-law Carmen Sicignano. In his day, Joe was an avid scratch golfer who loved and admired the game. Father's Day was his day to watch the U.S. Open with no disruptions except when it came to his grandchildren who he deeply loved. Joe had an amazing work ethic and was a dedicated provider for his family when it came to everything; finances, chores, handyman and chef. For those closest to him knew rubbing of the hands meant it was 3:30p and cocktail time (Miller Lite) and that he enjoyed listening to Frank Sinatra and watching the "classics". Joe had a sarcastic sense of humor and had a difficult time showing his emotions, but his children knew he loved them deeply. He was also a dedicated and loyal husband to his wife, Vicki, always taking care of her needs first before anyone else. She was the love of his life!
A special thanks to his nurses and doctors at AdventHealth Hospital of Palm Coast during his time of illness. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you spend time with your parents and children in honor of Joe. One of Joe's favorite songs was by Harry Chapin, "Cats in the Cradle" (a relationship in which one person doesn't make enough time for the other).
A private family gathering will be held in Joe's celebration of life.
