It is with deep sorrow and profound respect that we announce the passing of Reverend Leon Mitchell, who departed this life on November 29th, 2025, at the age of 87. Reverend Mitchell was a beloved spiritual leader, devoted family member, and cherished friend to many, leaving behind a legacy of faith, service, and love.
Born on March, 20th, 1938, in Guyana, Reverend Mitchell spent his life spreading the word of God and dedicating himself to the betterment of his community.
His devotion to pastoral care was evident in the countless hours he spent ministering to those in need, offering solace, counsel, and prayer to all who sought it. He believed deeply in the power of community and spent much of his life working to strengthen and uplift those around him.
Reverend Mitchell is survived by his daughter and sister, Norma Mitchell and Victoria Browne as well as his grandchildren, Samuel Mendez, Jamal Mendez, and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Reverend Leon Mitchell’s legacy of love, service, and faith will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
A celebration of life will be held on December 27th, 2025, 10:00am at the Palm Coast United Methodist Church.
