

Louis J. Sonnenberg passed away peacefully in Palm Coast, Florida on June 12, 2017, one day after his 96th birthday. He was born in Defiance, Ohio June 11, 1921 to Henry and Rosa (Appel) Sonnenberg. Lou was a decorated war veteran of World War II. Upon his return from service he married Winona (Roether) and they had two children. His professional career was spent as Chief Financial Officer of Bennett Enterprises, Perrysburg, Ohio. Bennett Enterprises owned numerous Frisch's Big Boys and Holiday Inns in the Toledo area, After Winona's death in 1988, he married Elizabeth Suesse and they relocated to Florida where she preceded him in death in 2012. Lou was active in St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Toledo, Ohio and Faith Lutheran in Englewood, Florida. He was a devout Christian who loved serving the Lord. Lou was an AVID lifetime fan of the Detroit Tigers and enjoyed watching their games on MLB. He also enjoyed playing golf and bridge. Louis will be very sadly missed by his daughter, Linda (Jack) Ideman, son, Bruce (Kelly) Sonnenberg, and step-daughter, Kellie (Mike) Johnston, sister, Jeanne Sonnenberg, and 3 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
