Luis De Oliveira

Born on May 24, 1948, in Portugal, Luis was the son of the late Julio Valente and Ana Pereira Oliveira. At the age of 7, he and his family moved to Brazil, and in 1968, at 18 years old, they relocated to Brooklyn, New York. Luis worked in the construction industry, where he found his passion for the trade. In 1969, he met the love of his life, Dina Lopes. Just two months later, they were married, beginning a beautiful journey together.

Luis and Dina raised three children on Long Island, New York, before moving to Virginia in 1994. There, Luis founded Premier Concrete, a company that continues to thrive today. In 2014, he and Dina moved to Palm Coast to enjoy the warm Florida weather and a well-deserved retirement.

A devoted member of the Portuguese American Social Clubs in every state he lived, Luis served on several governing boards throughout the years. He was passionate about traveling, enjoyed a little bit of golf, and was an ardent supporter of Benfica Soccer. However, his greatest joy came from spending time with his family, especially his cherished grandchildren.

Luis is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Dina; their children, Dina Soares, Melissa Mangelli, Michele (Robert) Kohl; grandchildren, Richie (Kristen) Soares, Danny (Lynn) Soares, David Tereso, Joseph and Nicholas Mangelli, Noah and Rylee Kohl; great-grandchildren, Wyatt and Reagan Smith, Elizabeth Thiefeld, Isaiah Franco Ramirez, Isabella Franco Ramirez, and Victoria Soares; his brother, Patricio Oliveira; his brother-in-law, Alcides (Patria) Lopes; his beloved Maltipoo, Beijo; and many other loving relatives and friends.

Luis will be remembered for his kindness, hard work, dedication to family, and his generous spirit. He touched the hearts of all who knew him and will be deeply missed.

A visitation for Luis will be held Sunday, February 23, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Craig Flagler Palms Funeral Home, 511 Old Kings Road South, Flagler Beach, Florida 32136. A funeral service will be celebrated on Monday, February 24, 2025 at 1:00 PM at the funeral home followed by interment immediately following the service at Flagler Memorial Gardens.
