Richard was a Custom Home builder for almost 50 years, building in Michigan, East Texas and Flagler County, FL. He loved the outdoors, loved to hunt and fish and loved his family. He was passionate about his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and lived it out by loving and serving his family and those he came in contact with. He faithfully lived by 3 John 4, “I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.”
Richard is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Nancy Carr of Palm Coast, FL; son, Todd (Robin) Carr of Callahan, FL; daughter, Kelly Shumaker of Salisbury, NC; son, Brett (Kristi) Carr of Tatum, TX, and daughter Tamara (Trent) Schake of Palm Coast, FL.
Grandchildren: Devin (Ryan) Haugh, Kristin (Clint) Conner, Austin (Brooke) Carr, Jessica (Aaron) Long, Emily (Garrett) Wood, Caleb (Darcey) Shumaker, Regan (Matthew) Reeves, Brittyn Carr, Casey (Destini) Carr, Sydney (Jeremy) Hurley, Madison (Joshua) McIvor, Lindsey (Emmett) Lorette, Anniston Schake, Dakota Schake
Great Grandchildren: Bella, Mason, Carson, Stetson, Lawson, Hudson, Heath, Tinslee, Grady, Carlie, Maverik, Bennett, Hadlynn, Rudiger, Owen, Haze, Callum, Myles, Adelline, Stella, Macie and Ryah.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Burnis and Sophie Carr, his brother Dennis Carr, his son-n-law Randy Shumaker and his granddaughter, Morgan Carr.
A celebration of life will be held at Buddy Taylor Middle School Cafeteria located at 4500 Belle Terre Pkwy, Palm Coast, Florida 32164 on January 31st at 1:00pm. Nice casual attire.
