Robert "Bob" Tonetti, a proud U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran from North Bergen, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2025, in his Palm Coast, Florida home. Born on February 7, 1949, Bob's service to his country was a source of immense pride and honor throughout his life. Bob was a long-time standing member of the Disabled American Veterans, the Vietnam Veterans of America and the Veterans of Foreign War.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and May (Strandberg) Tonetti; sister, Lois and brother, Jack. He is also survived by his devoted Wife, Debbie, Brother, Jimmy (Chere), Niece, Michelle (Tim) and Nephew (God Son), Kevin. Bob's Family was everything to him.
Through his years, Bob had explored multiple careers after retiring from being a truck driver. He finished his college degree and went to work with troubled kids in the prison system of Virginia, and after that for a company helping people who were not capable of living without assistance due to various developmental issues in Florida. His heart knew no limits. Bob always wanted what was best for people even if they did not know it or agree with him. His philanthropic efforts to many organizations such as Tunnels to Towers or Wounded Warrior Foundation were a staple for the efforts these organizations carried out.
A man of varied talents and interests, Robert had a deep love for music that brought joy to his days. he also found great enjoyment in fishing, nature and reading Stephen King and Tom Clancy novels, often immersing himself in their thrilling and imaginative stories. Bob in recent years found religion to be a source of great comfort.
Bob's passing will forever leave a hole in the hearts of those who loved and cared about him. Bob would ask us all to carry on hold your head high, live life to the fullest as long as it doesn't cost to much and dammit stop wasting money, save it, you'll need it when you get old.
