In Palm Coast, Sal remained active in the community. He was a proud member of the Italian American Social Club, where he called bingo for many years, and he served as Treasurer of the New York Social Club.
An exceptional athlete in his youth, Sal excelled in wrestling, baseball, and football at Fox Lane High School, where he served as captain of all three teams. His achievements were recognized in 2013 with his induction into the Fox Lane High School Hall of Fame.
Although he had no children of his own, Sal was a devoted and loving father figure to his wife’s children and grandchildren. He also cherished his nine nieces and nephews, remaining a constant presence in their lives.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Stella Rosaforte. Sal is survived by his beloved wife, Judy; his sister, Nancy Herlihy; his brother, Joe and wife Carmen; his stepdaughter, JoAnn Peworchik; his stepson, Chris Peworchik and his wife Lucia and step-grandchildren Auston, Loghan, and Riley; as well as his nine adored nieces and nephews.
