He was the first baby born in Savannah, GA on January 1, 1939 and graduated from Savannah High School. He served in the Navy and loved his country. He retired and moved to Flagler Beach, Florida after working the majority of his life as a salesman.
He was a member of Tomoka Christian Church where he and his wife Diane served faithfully at the food pantry. He enjoyed spending time with his family more than anything in this world. He was a man of integrity, loyalty, and gave the best hugs ever. He never met a stranger and had an uncanny ability to make everyone he met feel like he had known them forever.
He is preceded by his parents, Alton and Hester Williams. He is survived by his wife Diane; his two sisters Trilby Rimes, and Priscilla Carter of Savannah, GA. He has three children, Pete Edenfield (Cissy), Penny Kolm (Jeffrey), and Deidra Tober (Cody). He has a legacy of grandchildren including Casey Edenfield, Candice Hill (Myles), Zoe Kolm, Lillie Tober, Avery Kolm and Annabelle Tober. He was fortunate enough to also have three great grand-children Caden, Harmony, and Roman Hill.
A celebration of Gary’s life will be held on June 19, 2020 at 11:00AM at Tomoka Christian Church 1450 Hand Avenue, Ormond Beach, FL 32174.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be sent to Tomoka Christian Church Food Pantry.
