

Bill was born June 5, 1936 in Brooklyn, New York, the only child of William Joseph and Ann Pauline Abbott Sweeters.
He was a 1953 graduate of Bay Shore High School, then attended Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, where he received his Bachelor degree. Bill also furthered his education and attended the University of Northern Colorado where he received his Masters and Doctoral degree. Bill served in the Peace Corps in Malasia, and worked as an educator all over the world. As an engineering professor, Bill enjoyed teaching at the University of Hawaii, University of South Dakota and Morningside University in Iowa. He worked for Ford Aerospace in Columbia Maryland and was director of computer based learning at Singapore Polytechnic. Bill was an award winning photographer and a long time member of the Casements Camera Club. Bill loved the outdoors, camping and hiking were favorite pastimes. He loved to scuba dive and go snorkeling in all the seas he encountered in his travels. He loved skiing, sailing and biking. He was a very active man. Bill continued to take classes and was fascinated by ideas. He wrote down his own ideas and read books and magazines to keep up with the times. He traveled with his wife and sons to the far corners of this earth. Bill loved his family and his active life. His life was long and happy. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.
He leaves his wife Michele D. Sweeters whom he married September 8, 1971. Two sons, Jason (Kathryn Zbikowsky) of Palm Coast and William “Ken” (Lisa) Sweeters of Flagler Beach, and grandfather to Sayler Sweeters.
Family and friends will be received Saturday, August 30th from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home, where a memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM
