Barbara Dell Townsend

TOWNSEND, Barbara D. – Age 79, of Flushing, died Sunday, August 29, 2010 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Townsend was born November 26, 1930 in Bloomfield, Missouri the daughter of Clarence and Clarice (Rogers) Jones. She graduated in 1948 from Bendel High School where she was the drum major. On May 7, 1977 Barbara married George Townsend. Barbara was an active member of the Lady’s Oriental Shrine L.O.S. #28, a member of the Jesterettes of Saginaw and the Forget Me Not’s. She retired from General Motors where she workedin purchasing. Surviving are son, Terry (Fay) Latture, daughters, Carol Nolley, Tracy (Keith) Vautherot, step-son Tom (Deann) Townsend; grandchildren, Tate, Tiffany, Ryan, Taylor and Tyler; her best friend, Ruby Boyce. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband George, granddaughter Tara, and sister Juanita. Friends may visit the family from 1 to 9 p.m. today and 11 a.m. until the time of service on Wednesday at Reigle Funeral Home Sunset Chapel. A L.O.S. memorial service will be 7 p.m. this evening. The funeral service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at the funeral home. Dr. Dale Woods will officiate. Burial will follow at Flushing Cemetery.
