Diane Cecelia Chase

Diane Cecelia Chase – Age 82, of Flint, died Friday, October 30, 2015 at McLaren – Flint. Mrs. Chase was born September 25, 1933 in Detroit the daughter of the late Edward Samolin and MaryEllen Samolin - Zuellig. She loved spending time with her children, Diane always loved telling how many grandchildren she had and loved to buy things for them. She was a loving wife to John, the most wonderful mother and grandmother that a family could be blessed with. Diane loved planning family functions especially the yearly Christmas party, she loved watching the kids open their gifts. She also loved traveling north to the U.P. to spend time with her brother-in-law and his wife, Frank and Myrabelle Chase. She was loved and cherished by all her family. Surviving are her children, Lawrence (Terry) Whitaker of Mt. Morris, MaryEllen Callender of Flint, John (Cathy) Chase of Flushing, Gerald (Brenda) Chase of Mt. Morris, Helene (Richard) Serven of Mt. Morris, Julia (Gary) Andrews of Mt. Morris; 26 grandchildren, 51 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren; sister, Joan Kerry; sister-in-law, Christine Chase; sister-in-law Marjorie Zuellig; brother-in-law, Frank D. (Myrabelle) Chase. Mrs. Chase was preceded in death by her husband John Chase, son Kenneth, sister Helene, brother Edward Lawrence, great grandson Keith. Friends may visit the family Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 12 noon to 8 p.m. at Reigle Funeral Home. A Rosary will be prayed 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Mt. Morris. Burial will follow at Flint Memorial Park.
