

EWING, Jack E., Of Flushing, age 82, went to be with his Lord, Monday, October 24, 2011. Mr. Ewing was born October 22, 1929 Guernsey, Iowa the son of Everett and Hollis (Dawson) Ewing. Mr. Ewing was a member of Flushing Presbyterian Church and President of Flint Male Chorus. Jack retired from the U.S. Army as a Colonel and was a member of the American Legion Post #283. For 35 years he was a teacher, football and basketball coach for Flint Public Schools. On December 28, 1954 Jack married Arlene Dickenson and she survives him. Also surviving are children, Dianne (Michael) Cole, David (Dianne) Ewing, Dawn (Chris) Bitterman; grandchildren, Rebecca (Brett) Francek, Robyn Cole and fiancée Bob Gorham, Lindsey (Jon) Lences, Ashleigh, Shona, Catriona, Chloe, Noah and Diana Ewing, Jackson and Jon Bitterman; brothers, James (Leola) Ewing, Dr. Joseph (Barbara) Ewing. Jack and Arlene spent their summers in Sweets Point, DeTour Village, Michigan. Friends may visit the family from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday and 2 to 4, and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Reigle Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, October 29, 2011 at Flushing Presbyterian Church, 5010 N. McKinley, Flushing, MI. Burial will follow at Flint Memorial Park. In Lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Flint Male Chorus or Flushing Presbyterian Church.
