BLONDIN, Joan “Joni”, age 61 passed away suddenly, at home, on Monday, March 7, 2016. She was born on October 26, 1954, in Flint, Michigan to parents Karol and Josephine (Travinski) Piotrowski. Joan married Dale Blondin on December 30, 1983. She is survived by her husband; brothers: Gregory (Marcia), and David (Cheryl); nephews: Nicholas (Lucinda), and Joseph (Anna), and their several children; her brother-in-laws: Dennis (Elaine), Paul (Susan), and their children; and by her aunt, Antonia Hill; Stella Smith and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; her aunts: Louise Dach (Edward), Angeline Wistrand (Bruce), Evelyn Silzain; and her beloved American cocker spaniel, Sandy. Joan was a Girl Scout, a Powers Catholic High School graduate, and received a BA from U of M, but worked for MSU for years and occasionally enjoyed lighthearted disagreement with her husband’s affiliation with U of M, where he earned degrees and was employed. She enjoyed all forms of gardening, and caring for her beloved cats Socks and Pumpkin, with the aid of her asthma medications. She worked on the St. John Vianney Christian Service Commission, doing good works. Her greatest “Gift” in this life was to always put other people at ease and to bring happiness into their lives.
