

Alan Binder passed away surrounded by his children on April 14, 2026, at the age of 71. Alan was a proud and loving father to Matt Binder (Romina Otoya), Josh Binder, Sami Binder, and Adam Binder; Grandpa to his “Three E’s” Ezra Otoya-Binder, Enid Otoya-Binder, and Effy Otoya-Binder; “Wasband” to Margaret Binder; brother-in-law to Camille Cannon and John Langone (Jo Langone); Uncle to Christina Cannon Gonçalves (Eric Gonçalves) and Great-Uncle to August Gonçalves; Uncle to Danielle Langone Campbell and John Michael Langone; and a beloved brother, family member, and friend to many others. He is preceded by his parents, Nathaniel Binder and Millie Binder, who he loved deeply, and his mother-in-law and father-in-law Margaret Langone and Michael Langone.
Alan was born on April 21, 1954, and cherished growing up in Rosedale. He loved to make others smile. He would always selflessly put the happiness of others before himself. All who knew him remember his sense of humor and kindness. He loved his family. He loved music, especially his favorite band The Kinks. He loved movies and TV shows and pop culture. He loved his pets (Lady, Lucky, Scruffy, Rebel, and Schnappsie), who he looked forward to seeing again at the Rainbow Bridge. He loved watching his grandkids play soccer. He loved life.
Alan will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him. He will be celebrated and remembered with enduring love.
