

Armando Luis Dorta, loving husband, father, son, and brother passed away at the age of 59 on June 15, 2023, peacefully in the presence of his wife, two sons, mother, brother, and sister-in-law. Armando was 59.
Armando was preceded in death by his father, Juan Carlos. He is survived by his wife, Diane, sons, Christian and Brian, mother, Filomena, brother, Carlos (Nilda), and numerous nieces and nephews.
Armando graduated from the High School of Printing in 1982 which led to the beginning of his career as a printer at Nelson Printing. His career as a printer lasted for over 10 years before he made the decision to change careers. In 1993, Armando started as a train conductor for the New York City Metropolitan Transportation Authority and was eventually promoted to train operator.
Armando enjoyed baseball, football, Star Wars, classic cars, and most importantly spending time with his friends and family. He would spend his Sundays and Tuesdays playing softball as a pitcher for numerous teams over the years. Armando was a die-hard Mets and Steelers fan and loved to go to games whenever he had the chance. He loved to host gatherings where he could see all his friends and family and spend hours on end talking and laughing.
A visitation for Armando will be held Monday, June 19, 2023 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Frederick Funeral Home, 192-15 Northern Boulevard, Flushing, NY 11358.
