It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Diana Barbara Wukovits, a beloved wife, mother, mother-in-law, and grandmother. Born on June 30, 1949, to an immigrant German family, she resided in Woodhaven NY with her father Karl, mother Hertha and big brother Carl. Here, is where she made many memories and friends some of whom she may still may have been in touch with recently. That’s the thing with Diana, once you met her, she considered you a friend for life. Whether 5 minutes or 5 years of befriending her. She had a special sparkle about her.
Diana was a woman of many passions. She had an immense love for animals, particularly her cats. She loved to bake, and she could spend hours discussing recipes, and cooking, or baking with anyone willing to listen. Diana's zest for life was evident in her love for travel, exploring new cuisines, and enjoying her company.
One of her favorite pastimes was taking trips to Dunkin', Target, and Walmart. A trip wasn’t complete unless she had explored every aisle and spent at least five hours soaking in the experience.
Life presented Diana with significant challenges, including the heartbreak of becoming a widow and losing her best friend. Despite these hardships, she showed remarkable resilience and strength. Her greatest pride and joy came from her role as a grandmother, a title she cherished above all. Her grandchildren, were the light of her life, and she adored being called "Ba" by her eldest grandchild.
Diana's love for Disney was well-known among her family and friends. She could spend countless hours enjoying Disney movies, both old and new, from the comfort of her recliner. Though we never had the chance to take a Disney trip with her, we plan to honor her memory with one in the future.
Diana taught us invaluable lessons about the importance of family and living life. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
Diana left us on May 18, 2024, after a courageous battle with complications from diabetes. We will miss her dearly, but we find comfort in knowing that through her memories, and her legacy of love she will continue to inspire us. Rest in peace, Diana. You will be forever in our hearts.
A visiting hours for Diana will be held Tuesday, May 21, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Frederick Funeral Home, 192-15 Northern Boulevard, Flushing, NY 11358. An interment will occur Wednesday, May 22, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 10:30 PM at Mount St. Mary Cemetery, 172-00 Booth Memorial Ave, New York, NY 11365.
