
Frank Joseph Flanagan passed away on Wednesday October 20, 2021. Although he was 90, he had been active and in good health and his passing was sudden but without any pain or suffering. He is survived by his loving wife Mildred, son John and his wife Gayle of Tampa Florida, son Joseph of Manilus New York as well as granddaughters Kristen of Copenhagen Denmark and Kaitlin of Tampa Florida. Frank and Mildred had just celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary this past July.
Frank was born in Brooklyn New York in 1931. He served honorably in the United States Navy after High School. After serving in the Navy, he worked for many years in the construction industry. He was a longtime fan of the Brooklyn Dodgers and loved baseball. He also loved taking his family on vacations, especially to Lake George.
Frank was a warm and loving man who also loved to make people laugh. All of his friends and family will deeply miss the joy, good humor and cheerfulness that he brought to everyone.
A visitation for Frank will be held Sunday, October 24, 2021 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Frederick Funeral Home, 192-15 Northern Boulevard, Flushing, NY 11358. A funeral mass will occur Monday, October 25, 2021 from 9:45 AM to 10:45 AM at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church, 34-24 203rd Street, Bayside, NY 11361. A graveside service will occur Monday, October 25, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Mt. St. Mary's Cemetery, 172-00 Booth Memorial Avenue, Flushing, NY 11365.
