George Koufadis passed away on June 25, 2025, at the age of 92. He was a beloved and devoted individual, cherished by all who knew him. Born on June 13, 1933, George was a beloved husband of Efrosini, and a loving father of Maria (Niko) Panagioulakis, Christina (George) Sifounious, Joanne (Tommy) Vazouras, and Kathy (Ari Lampos) Karavassilis. He was also a dear father-in-law to the late Elias Karavassilis.
George was a cherished pappou to his grandchildren George (Jackie), Steven (Constance), Billy, Effie (Chris), Anastasis, Alexandros, Yiorgios, Elena (Alex), and Effie. He was also an adored pappou to great-grandchildren Maria, Niko, Vasili, George, Nicholas, George, Alessia, and Elias.
In his personal life, George loved to travel to Leros, Greece. He enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He had a passion for playing cards and loved his car.
The family will be receiving visitors on June 27, 2025, at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Shrine Church, located at 196-10 Northern Blvd, New York, NY 11358. Visitation will occur from 8:30 am to 9:30 am, followed by a Funeral Liturgy from 9:30 am to 10:30 am. Interment will take place at Flushing Cemetery, 163-6 46th Ave, New York, NY 11358, from 11:00 am to 11:30 am.
