Janie Rollerson

Janie Rollerson , 60 years of age, passed away on Sunday Sept 1 2013, in her home in Kew Gardens N.Y. While in the arms of her Beloved Cousin Viola Ellison, as they prayed together, she peacefully drifted into the arms of the Lord.

Janie was born in Greeleyville, SC to Martha Rollerson and James Mathews.

Janie spent her early years in SC and her adolescent years in New York City, where she graduated High School and obtained an Associate’s Degree in Applied Science from New York City Community College.

After graduating Janie began her career as an Assistant Buyer for Orbach’s Department Store and then transitioned to working for manufacturers in the garment industry; most notably of which was her 15 year tenure as Office Manager for St.Eve International.

Janie will always be synonymous with St.Eve. She was the first and last person you saw when you came to the office. Janie was the voice of St. Eve. She only needed to meet or talk to you once on the phone to instantly establish a relationship with you, whether you were VP of a company, a factory owner, or a delivery person.

For those who worked with Janie at St.Eve they can take solace from knowing she is with “Big Steve” Demakos, the company’s beloved founder.

Janie loved to jog and she worked hard to stay in shape, but her favorite workout was to go shopping!

Family and Friends were the center of Janie’s life; her loving Sisters Eleace, Karen and Jakki , her nieces and nephews, her Aunt Annie Mae Ellison and her cousins Viola, Fred and Floyd.

Janie’s Friends were like an extended family to her in every meaning of the word. She will be missed by

Lorraine Chu’s family, her children Matthew and Kayla, and Yin Ping ( Lorraine’s Mother) who affectionately referred to Janie as “her other daughter”. Janie will also be missed by loving friends

Christina Makovic and Maria Martini Cordonnier.

Most importantly Janie lived her life in faithful love and trust in the Lord.

Visitation will be held on Sunday September 8, 2013 from 2-5pm & 7-9pm. A funeral mass will be held Monday September 9, 2013 at 10:00am at Sacred Heart RC Church in Bayside, NY. Interment to follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Montclair, NJ. Funeral arrangements are under the care of the Harden Funeral Home.
