He was born in Annyalla, Castleblayney, County Monaghan, Ireland to the late John and Catherine (McDonnell) Carragher.
In addition to his parents, Michael is predeceased by his loving wife, Mary A. Carragher (Boyle); brothers Patrick, Hugh, Gerard, John James; sisters Eileen Brady and Rose Lavelle.
He is survived by his sister Mae Hughes; children Donald (Regina), Catherine (Anthony), Deirdre (Joseph), Michael (Jae); 9 grandchildren Emily (Ryota), Katherine (Michael), Lauren, Johanna (Mario), Anthony (Christina), James, Mary Jae, John and James; 4 great grandchildren Gannon, Ronan, Olivia Riley and Gio Anthony.
A visitation for Michael will be held Tuesday, April 29, 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Frederick Funeral Home, 192-15 Northern Boulevard, Flushing, NY 11358. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 9:45 AM on Wednesday, April 30, 2025 at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament R.C. Church, 34-24 203rd Street, Bayside, New York 11361. A burial will occur Wednesday, April 30, 2025 at Calverton National Cemetery, Wading River, NY 11792.
