Robert D. Witherspoon was born in Clifton Tennessee, July 16th1927.He moved to Jackson Tennessee in 1932. He was educated in public school of Jackson Tennessee and he furthered his education in The United States Navy.
Early in life he united with Greater Bethel Ame Church. He joined The United States Navy at the young age of 16 and serviced in three wars. World War II, Korea, and Vietnam. After retiring from the military service of thirty years, he was employed at the playboy club on 5th Avenue New York City. As the bookkeeper for thirteen years.
After playboy closed he was employed at the Plaza Hotel for ten and a half years, where he retired.
Those left to cherish his memory are his two sons Myron and Steven, his daughter in law Christina, his granddaughter Shana, his nephews Larry, Kelly, Dennis, and Anthony, and his nieces Felecia, and Stephanie.
