Robin Chia was my friend for 55 years and we shared a long history together.  I met Robin at Union College when he first came to US in 1967.  He was my roommate at Union College and later at EKU.  Neither of us had family here so we were like brothers.  We would spend our vacations and summers working in New York City earning money for college.  While in college we dreamt about opening a chinese restaurant some day because there were none in southeastern Kentucky…only one in Lexington.  In 1976, he was one of my partners in opening a third chinese restaurant in Lexington. Robin moved to NYC after graduation while I stayed in KY.  I was honored to be his best man at his wedding to Rosalind.  While we kept in touch sporadically, our friendship continued.  Our loss is heaven’s gain.  Robin will surely be missed by all who knew him.  So long, old friend…see you someday in heaven.  Condolences and prayers to Rosalind and  family.

I always remember brother in-law Robin when I see kuih kapit, see how he lighted up with a can in his arm? So sweet!

This is one of the many dinners we’ve shared with Robin over the years.  We spent Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years together.  He and his family were like our family.  I will treasure those memories forever.   One special winter Robin saved us from being frozen to death.  Robin came to know that the radiator in our, Rissa's and mine, malfunctioned.  He drove all the way from Flushing Queens to Washington Heights in Manhattan to pick us up.  We spent a warm and cozy weekend at his house.  That’s the kind of guy Robin was.   Subsequent to that we .had several outings with Yenchoo and Robin.  I remember lunch at Sheephead Bay, JFK airport viewing terrace(pre September 11).  He introduced me to Hop Kee Restaurant on Mott Street Chinatown.  It has since become my favorite restaurant.  Robin’s house has been homes to several friends and family.  He will be remembered for his kindness and generosity and of course that infectious smile.  Rest In Peace, dear friend.  Eddie and I will miss you 😢

I am deeply sorry for your loss, I was robin's financial advisor over the last 17 years and  we developed a wonderful relationship.  Thank you for sharing so many pictures. May robin rest in eternal paradise. Scott Shear-

My dear Robin,I know you as a wonderful person, generous, fun loving, full of love for everyone he met and that contagious laughter. Robin has lived a fruitful rich life and even to the end to have met his granddaughter and spent so many precious time with his family, it was so wonderful for Kenneth and his family to share time and happy memories. Robin, I know is happy and the Lord has a place for him. I cannot be in NY to be with his family and friends, I shall be there in spirit. May Yen Choo,Kenneth, Karen and the rest of the family have happy memories, that is what Robin would wish for. May he Rest In Peace, till we meet again!

Rest in peace, Uncle Robin.  Although we lived oceans apart, we will miss you dearly for your love and music legacy.  Thank you for the music you left in our family and siblings back in1970s.  You have touched our hearts.  We will remember you always.

We know Robin and Rosalind since 1980's through a mutual friend Mr. Paul You who is a founding shareholder of the company Chinese Native Products (now Pearl River Mart).  Robin joined us because he shared the mission of what we are doing which is to promote the understanding between China and US through commerce.  Over the 45 years Robin served as one of our board members, the company went through many up and downs, Robin never changed his strong believe in our mission and gave his support wholeheartedly. 
Through the years, we becomes friends, Robin is one of the kindest, honest and trustful person I have ever met.  I talked to him about two months ago over the phone, he speaks and laugh as he always does. 
Robin, rest in peace, we will miss you and remember you.
