Salvatore D'Onofrio

Beloved husband of the late Josephine, Salvatore was a devoted family man whose love and warmth touched everyone who knew him. He was the proud and loving father of Joseph D'Onofrio, Raymond D'Onofrio, Cara (Shawn) Hayes, and the late Salvatore D'Onofrio. He was the cherished grandfather of Connor Hayes, who brought him great joy. Salvatore is also survived by one sister and two brothers, whose bond with him remained strong throughout his life.

Salvatore lived a life filled with simple joys and rich friendships. He had a remarkable green thumb and spent countless hours tending to his garden, where his love for nature truly flourished. A familiar face in the local park, Salvatore enjoyed lively games of bocce ball with his friends and valued the camaraderie these gatherings brought. In his earlier years, he found great enjoyment in playing poker, golfing, and bowling.

His warmth, sense of humor, and generous spirit will be remembered by all who knew him.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at Frederick Funeral Home, 192-15 Northern Boulevard, Flushing, NY 11358, on Friday, June 13, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at 9:45 AM at St. Kevin’s Roman Catholic Church, 45-21 194th Street, Flushing, NY 11358. Interment will follow at Mount St. Mary Cemetery, 172-00 Booth Memorial Avenue, Flushing, NY 11365.

Salvatore’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.
