Mama was such a beautiful soul. Her love for her family was greater than anything. She passed on that genuine love and strength to us and we will pass it on to our families forever. Thank you for being a wonderful grandmother and great grandmother. Mama we will always love and remember you and share your wonderful memories.

Mama, you were such a special woman and you will be greatly missed. There are so many memories I have, but the ones that stand out to me the most,  to me, were our weekly trips to visit you. It was so nice knowing that every Saturday we would be with you eating and hanging out. I am very grateful that my children were able to get to know their great grandmother. We will all miss you so much!!

While it’s sad you are no longer with us.  You’ve created memories of togetherness and love that will last a lifetime and more.   Some of my earliest memories in life are traveling across the gwb into queens  and hanging out with you and papito.   I can close my eyes and take myself back to the days we spent Christmas and thanksgiving there.    I’ll always hear your soft voice referring to your grandchildren as “mehita/mehito” for  as long as I live, and consider myself extremely lucky that I was able to hear that for 37 years of my life.    Even luckier that my children were able to hear the sound of your loving Voice saying that to them.     

We all consider ouservels very fortunate lucky to have someone so special in our lives for so long.  8 children , 13 grandchildren , 15 great grandchildren is such an amazing accomplishment to see.  We all now live with a huge piece of our hearts missing but   The memories and love you have showed to so many is the only thing that can fill that void.     It’s also comforting to know you are reunited with papito.    

Mamma and Papito .       We love you so so so so so much.   You both created such a beautiful and strong family.  The love that you showed , taught , and instilled on us all will have a everlasting impact.  Your memories , kindness , and Love will be passed down through the generations.

Dear Mama, 

Many of my happiest early childhood memories are at your home.  30 years later I can still remember the smell of arroz con carne filling the room, the mote you made to perfection and how you would light up watching me eat it, knowing that it was my favorite. 

It was the love I felt that made the memories from your home so powerful. Our family together laughing, enjoying each other’s company, sharing incredible home-cooked meals; these memories were all possible because of you, because of the love you and Pipito showed to all of us. 

As I recall these memories, Mama, I think of you. How active you were, how much energy you had, how much fire you had burning inside. Always fighting for what you believed was right, what you believed would serve us well in life. 

As I grew older your love for me only followed suit. Perhaps your fire inside was intentionally swapped for a more light-hearted, carefree attitude. Whenever we had the chance to talk in person, we always seemed to find something to laugh about. I can still hear your laugh in my head – you had the best laugh, Mama. 

You always took the time to ask how things were going in life – with school, with Alex, with the kids. You always seemed so happy for me, so proud of whatever I had going on in life. You were an incredible grandmother – so encouraging, so caring, so kind. I know you always wanted the best for me and showed it in every way possible. 

I love you, Mama.  Thank you for all the wonderful memories.

Our Dearest Mama-
The kids, Jay and I will miss you more than we can ever express. We love you so very much and will continue to, eternally.   I can not believe we will not have more time with you, but I am so grateful and blessed we were able to spend so much time with you while you were here. I have endless memories of you, and I will cherish them forever. My 4 children , your great grandchildren , also  have lasting memories they will cherish forever. It is such a blessing for them. There is no one quite like you and we are feeling the emptiness of your passing. Knowing that you are still with us in spirit, watching over us, and knowing that you are back with Pipito will eventually heal our broken hearts. I find so much comfort, thinking of the two of you watching over us , together and complete.  While you were here, you were always able to express to us the love you had  for us. I pray that while you were here we were able to show you the immense love we had for you. I will not close this with  “until we meet again” (because you know me, and know that freaks me out) so I will say - Te amo Mama.

Mama, you are beautiful inside and out!  No matter where I am or what I’m doing, your memories will always keep me smiling. We may have lost you here on earth but heaven just gained an angel.  

I was so saddened to hear of the passing of Teresa Viteri  who everyone called mama I first met her when I was 16 Rosa and Maria brought me to their house and she had a warm welcoming smile and a pot of soup on the stove. That  day I fell in love with the whole family she will be deeply missed fly high with the Angels ❤️🙏
