Vincent continued to grow and thrive in Queens, where he lived.
Vinnie started his education a St. Ann's in Queens and continued his education in the same NYC Public School system which he later served.
He attended John Bowne H.S. in Flushing and then later attended St. John's University.
Shortly after college Vinnie began his career with the School Safety Division. His dedication and love for his job were evident throughout his career.
March 12, 1984 Vinnie began as a School Safety Officer under the Board of Education where he could be counted on to get the job done with a smile.
While employed by the Board of Education he was promoted as Sergeant in 1988, Supervisor of School Security in 1990 and Captain in 1992. The School Safety Division was merged with the New York City Police Department where he was designated as Associate Supervisor of School Security Manager in 2000.
Vincent was the Commanding Officer of the School Safety Division (SSD) following commands: Bronx East, the Operations Center, Bronx West, Manhattan South, Queens North, Brooklyn South and Staten Island. In addition, he served as Executive Officer of the Director's Office and the Queens North Command.
In 2012 Vinnie became a Deputy Director within School Safety Division proving that hard work and dedication does have its reward. Throughout his career, no matter how hard or challenging the assignment or situation, he remained confident, committed and kept a smile and his wonderful sense of humor in tact.
Vinnie leaves to mourn, his mother, Dolores Sica, the two apples of his eye, his daughters, Lisa Ann and Gina Marie, his fiancée, Gwendolyn Ott, on God-daughter, Khalia Robinson and his best friend Calvin Lloyd as well as a host of other family and friends. We will all miss the way he entered a room with his signature "Yo".
