My deepest condolences. Dr. Rosenkranz was my dentist, and my kids' dentist, for several years before we moved out of state. He was a genuine and kind person who always treated everyone with the greatest respect and care. I learned of his passing today when I referred a friend to him. It's a true loss to the community, and all who had the pleasure to know him.

I just learned of Dr. Rosenkranz's passing, as I no longer reside in NY. I can't tell you how kind he was to me as a patient. Like a lot of people, I was petrified of receiving dental care — but he and his staff treated me with the utmost compassion and patience. Dr. Rosenkranz was not only one of the most skilled healthcare providers I've ever met, but his compassion remains incomparable. My sincerest condolences to his family.

His kindness was boundless.  The first time I went to his office, another patient slammed a door on my foot as I was entering the office and she was leaving.  When I got inside the office, there was blood everywhere.  Dr. Rosenkranz came running out and the office was mobilized to help me.   Dr. Rosenkranz called an ambulance for me to go to the emergency room.  He called me at home later that day and every day until I had recovered.  I will never forget his kindness.

My family — myself, my husband, and our two children — were patients of Dr. Rosenkranz since 2011. Every time we came home from seeing him, we always had the same comment: that was great! We used to joke that no one needs Prozac when you have Dr. Rosenkranz. Truly, his joy, optimism, and professional skills were a gift to this world. Consistent. Honest.  Integral.  Joy.  Pride. These are the words that come to mind when I think of Dr. Rosenkranz. For 10 years he was the best health care professional in my life. I came back to see him time and time again because I trusted him. He has left a lasting impact on my life just because of his kindness and honesty. "How clean does your mouth feel"?!... From their very first visit to the dentist, my girls have looked forward to going because of Dr. Rosenkrantz. He was always so kind and gentle and entertained their every question. Dr. Rosenkranz was the only doctor I went back to again and again. Saw him ever since I moved to NYC in 2010. Just the most decent, caring and thorough medical professional I've ever encountered. "How good does your mouth feel right now?" He will be missed; I'm sad that I won't be able to bring my daughters to his practice. 

My favorite memory of Doctor Robert Rosenkranz and why I continued to a be a patient for so long was because of his kindness. I had just moved to Park Slope in 2009. I did not have any dental insurance at the time and I was having tooth pain. I was calling around random dentists trying to find a dentist to take a look at my tooth. Everyone else I was calling was trying to charge me hundreds of dollars to take a look. Even the "student" dental programs were trying to charge that much. I called the office of Doctor Rosenkranz and explained my situation to the person answering the phone. They actually put him on the phone and I retold my situation to him. He agreed to just charge me for the x-ray because I had no dental insurance. He also recommended a great oral surgeon to remove the wisdom tooth. Ever since that first time at the office, I've been a loyal patient of his. I will eternally miss his signature phrase at the end of each visit: "How great does your mouth feel ?" My sympathy goes out to his family.

My sincere condolences to the family of Dr. Rosenkranz. When he would brighten my day in just a few moments, I often reflected on how happy his family must be to have such a warm, caring person like him.  As for my family, my husband and I started going to his practice over ten years ago and would have gone for the rest of our lives. Our first born knocked out half his front tooth as a toddler, and Dr. Rosenkranz spoke to us on the phone and saw him personally right away, making us feel supported and cared for. Our children have never gone to another practice. Thursday, June 23, I saw him and was dutifully reminded to brush gently. I will miss him greatly. I am deeply sorry for the loss to all his family, friends, and employees.

We as a family were so saddened to hear of losing our favorite dentist . I will forever miss dr. Rosenkranz . He always loved what he did and it showed even in time of stress he always put on a smile . My dental appointments will never be the same without him . He will forger be missed

Dr Rosenkranz has been such a blessing to Silvia and myself, over the years that we have been lucky to call him our dentist. We were deeply saddened by his loss. Two very precious (non-dental) lessons we will remember and carry with us: the way Dr Rosenkranz's devotion to his work, and kindness, resulted in true, lasting impact on the community (as witnessed by this long memory wall!); and his professional integrity, "primum non nocere" approach, which had created a long-term bond of trust that he would always advise what was in the best interest of his clients. We would like to send our deepest condolences to Dr Rosenkranz's family, and to the practice; if it's of any comfort, the amount of sadness for his untimely passing is a measure of the size of the impact he has had on all of us.

My family and I were deeply, deeply saddened to hear of Dr. Rosenkrantz's passing. My husband, brother, best friend, all were patients of his. It was always clear that Dr. Rosenkrantz was a kind, good-hearted, family man. Sometimes you can just read a man, even through small interactions, and know the kind of person they are. That's how we felt about Dr. Rosenkrantz. I sincerely hope that his family finds solace and comfort in one another. He will be missed by many.

Dr Rosencrantz was a medical care provider who truly made each and every patient feel cared for. His positivity and joy were contagious, you couldn't help but smile when he walked in the room. Dr. R was one of the warmest people I've ever met, and made going to the dentist something to look forward to.  He will be so deeply missed. 

It has been said literally hundreds of times in these messages, but Dr. R was the best dentist I ever visited and I cant imagine I will ever find a suitable "replacement."  I referred anyone who asked for dentist referrals to him and I continued to go to him through three moves even though I was increasingly far from his office.  Mid covid I recall biking to his office to avoid the subway and it was the first exercise I had had in ages.  I arrived looking a mess.  Recently I had to delay my cleaning and it is so weird to me that I will never see him again or hear his cheerful greeting. I hope the knowledge that he touched so many people and we all thought so highly of him will bring his family some comfort during what must be a devastating time.  We are all thinking of you and sending you our best.

I am so terribly sorry to hear the news of the passing of Dr Rosenkranz. He was so warm, and unbelievably friendly and gentle, and I recommended him to others at every opportunity. After many years of not seeing a dentist I found his practice and he saw me with no judgment and nothing but kindness and professionalism. I think my first visit may have been when I was pregnant, and my son is 16 now. My son began to see him as he outgrew the pediatric dentist. We were both shocked and very very sorry about this and I am sure his wonderful staff is about as devastated as his family is. Please accept our deepest condolences. Dr. Rosenkranz was such a warm and caring person. Whenever I came for an appointment, he seemed genuinely happy to see me and glad to hear that I'm doing well. We all adored Dr. Rosenkranz. He was our family dentist for over 15 years. My children are now teenagers and he was their first and only dentist. I remember taking my daughter to meet him when she was two. She was terrified. He came in singing and within a few minutes, she was smiling back at him. Every visit was like just that nice--he was wonderfully positive and kind. We all looked forward to seeing him (it sounds like an exaggeration but he was just that lovely). Dr. Rosenkranz was always so kind and positive! He was exceptionally forthright and never pushed me to get unneeded procedures. I looked forward to the dentist, as Dr. Rosenkranz 's warm energy was contagious! I brought my Mom to his office as well and he was very kind to her.

I am so sorry for this great loss for the family and loved ones of Dr. Rosenkranz.  He and his family have been in our thoughts since hearing the terrible news.  Our family has been seeing Dr. Rosenkranz  for 15+ years.  He was always such a joy to see and talk to.  I really felt he cared about me and my family to such a point that we considered him a close member of the family.  Me and my wife just saw him at Costco in Brooklyn and it was like meeting an old friend/ family member.  He could have just waved and said “hi” during our meet,  but he stopped and we chatted for 15 - 20 minutes about family and the season.  No matter how busy he was, he always had a smile and time.  He was gift to his family, friends, and patients, and he will be greatly missed.

These are some of the phrases my husband and I often quoted to each other with a smile after a visit to see Dr. Rosenkranz.  We are so shocked and devastated to hear of Dr. Rosenkranz's passing. We went to his practice for years when we lived in Brooklyn and even continued to come after we moved to the Bronx - what a special, caring provider and person.

It never even occurred to me until I met Dr. Rosenkranz that one could actually love one's dentist! But perhaps this is because once you met him, you knew that not only was Dr. Rosenkranz extremely competent and professional, he cared about you as a person. He was clearly devoted to his family. His office was so well-run and his staff all wonderful -- which is all a reflection on him.

I am so sorry for this great loss for the family and loved ones of Dr. Rosenkranz.  I am a fairly recent patient of his, and I switched to him after working with several untrustworthy dentists.  Given that, I have much dental anxiety - but  he made me feel so safe, confident and secure with his care. My heartfelt and sincerest condolences to the family of Dr. Reuven Rosenkranz.  I was so fortunate to have him as my dentist who I would see every six months.  Being in his presence was special and I would actually be looking forward to a dentist visit. I am so grateful to have known him. It was a privilege.  I will always remember him and appreciate his kindness and caring.  

I was always behind schedule for teeth cleaning appointments, but rather than berate me for this,  Dr. Rosenkrantz greeted me with a hearty “Bon-eeee! So good to see you!” It made me feel like a combination of cherished friend & movie star. As someone with a strong anxiety around going to the dentist, Dr. Rosenkranz always made me feel so safe and relaxed during trips to his office. He was such a kind and thoughtful man and will be thoroughly missed by all his patients.  Sending lots of love and support to his family and friends. 

I was a patient of Dr. Rosenkranz's for about a decade. He was a compassionate care provider who always had a smile on his face, and who clearly practiced from his heart. In my late 20s/early 30s, I avoided going to the dentist for a number of years. I eventually returned in January 2022. During that visit, I expressed to Dr. Rosenkranz how ashamed I felt about taking so much time away from the office due to fear. He smiled and said: “Today’s a new day.”

After that dental appointment, I traveled to Sheepshead Bay from Park Slope to meet Woebegone, a tortoiseshell kitten I decided to adopt. Every morning, Woebegone gently bites my nose with her teeth, as if to also say “Today is a new day"!

I feel that Dr. Rosenkranz's warmth and kindness toward me on the day I met Woebegone helped me open my heart to adopt her.

Dr Rosenkranz helped me get over a debilitating fear of dentists. He made a huge difference in my life, and as a result my children’s lives — we all loved going to see him. My deepest sympathies to Dr Rosenkranz’s family. May his memory be a blessing.

I was terribly sad to hear of Dr. Rosenkranz's untimely death.  I loved my visits to his office, and felt that his kindness, warmth and practicality was unmatched in the medical community.  My heart goes out to his family and loved ones.

My children really connected to him and his practice. And I trusted him so much as a dentist that even after I moved to Massachusetts I continued to work with him. What a mensch!

I found Dr. Rosenkranz a few years ago after moving to NYC, and felt so fortunate to have found such a great dentist. His presence was so welcoming once he stepped into the room, and he was so attentive to me as a patient even when the office was full. May his legacy of kindness continue within all of us.

 I am absolutely heartbroken to hear this news.  It's no small feat for a dentist visit to be a joy, but Dr. Rosenkranz made it so.  I saw him for years and sent all of my friends his way.  

After moving to California in 2019, I called him in tears when a new dentist claimed I suddenly had 11 cavities.  Dr. Rosenkranz calmly took the call and assured me that there was no way this could be true since my last visit to him.  He offered me support in getting a second opinion (which I did, and I had no cavities).  And of course, at the end of the call, he told me to have a good summer. 

So.  Dr. Rosenkranz:  have a great summer too.  You will really, truly be missed.     

I am devastated at the loss of Dr. Rosenkranz. Like many others here, I was his patient for over 10 years. Before my friend recommended him to me, I hadn't been to the dentist in a decade and was very nervous. He immediately put me at ease and beyond that, made me feel great not only about my dental health but for the rest of the day (and probably beyond). Throughout the years I recommended him to my now-husband, many friends, neighbors, and even strangers. I have never felt such joy seeing any medical professional in my life. Every day, I hear his voice reminding me to brush in gentle circles and to use Listerine (twice a day). My husband and I always looked forward to our visits with Dr. Rosenkranz and had been excited for our upcoming August appointments which will be the first for our kids at Park Slope Dental. We couldn't wait to introduce them to him. Dr. Rosenkranz was a wonderful person and a wonderful dentist and we will miss him very much. I can't imagine ever enjoying visiting the dentist again. Our thoughts are with his family. May his memory be a blessing. 

I cannot be more shocked. Dr. Rosenkranz has truly been a staple in my life, such a wonderful person and caregiver. I have been his patient for over a decade. I am beyond shocked, I recently visited the office and we had our usual chats. I am sooooo sorry for the loss of such a wonderful person, may his soul find eternal peace.

Dr. Rosenkranz was the most joyful man- he single-handedly changed how I felt about going to the dentist. I am thankful, in hindsight, that I told him these things repeatedly. I can imagine the imprint he left on his community, patients and loved ones.

The best dentist ever. My family and I had been seeing him for about a decade now. I always felt like we were in great hands. His energy was so beautiful... I loved the way he greeted me at every single visit: "Dawwwwwwn"! How are ya?"  with that awesome true New Yorker accent. I'm devastated by this news and will always hold a special place for him in my heart. What I do know for sure is that I'll never find another dentist greater than him. This news is so devastating for me and my whole family. My sister was the one who discovered Dr Rosenkranz practice. She told our whole family about it and within a year we all switched. We switched because we never met a dentist that was as caring and fun. The kids loved going and he remembered the names of every family member. I remember on my second visit he walked into the room and new exactly who I was. I remember thinking he sees hundreds of people and he remembered to ask about my mom and the rest of the family. And it wasn't only his memory that amazed me, it was the way he asked the questioned and how he showed he really cared. I never met his family but I can't image what you are going through right now, I'm sending hugs and thoughts of comfort your way. May gd be by your side and guide you through these tough times.

He has been my dentist for the last 14 years.  I'm shocked and saddened to hear of his passing.  I always felt I was getting care and always recommended him when anyone asked for a dentist recommendation.  My thoughts are with his family.

Dr. Rosenkranz has been my dentist for the past 12 years. I will always remember his warmth and how welcome he made me and others feel in his presence. I will always hear his endearing voice when I floss. 

"How good do your teeth feel right now?" signaled the end of the cleaning and the start of the brief but connected interaction with Dr. Rosenkranz  every six months. Who sees their dentist that regularly? His patients, that's who. Because he was skilled but moreover, connected and always had a positive attitude (even when the world was grim). His death is both an upsetting shock and devastating loss. My condolences to his family, and hopes they can take in how much good he offered his patients in his too short life. 

My heart aches for Dr. Rosenkranz's many families - personal, professional, his patients.  For the past decade, I looked forward every six months to a moment of joy as he checked up on me and in our family, we talked often with affection about his advice and good cheer.

Dr. Rosenkranz was truly a light in the world and we are all the lesser for his passing.

I have been going to Dr Rosenkranz since 2012. I have terrible teeth and he always made me feel supported and not judged, once prescribing antibiotics over the phone when I couldn’t come in for an appointment and x-ray. I left Brooklyn for Vermont in 2020 but repeatedly drove several hours to Park Slope for dental visits because I couldn’t bear the thought of having to switch dentists. I last saw him in May, and he was, as always, kind and warm and uplifting. I am devastated to hear of his passing.

I am truly saddened and heartbroken to hear about Dr. Rosenkranz. An absolute gem of a person. For the last ten years I have been looking forward to going to the dentist. I was so sorry to hear about Dr. Rosenkranz's passing. I only knew him from my dental visits but his attitude and enthusiasm for dentistry and his patients was impactful. My thoughts with his family and colleagues. 

 I always looked forward to the “Heyyy buddddy!” and the “How good do your teeth feel right now?! from my visits. I know I only got to know him in a small part of his life but I’ve always appreciated his warmth and kindness. Sending love and condolences to all his loved ones.

I'm shocked by this news. My heart hurts for you all!

I have been seeing Dr. Rosenkrantz for years and recommended him to many, including my own father who is also a patient at Park Slope Dental.

Just knowing Dr. Rosenkrantz was about to genially enter the room after my cleaning, asking me, "How CLEAN does your mouth feel right now????" always gave me such a lift.

We are renovating our 100 year old house and I bought a set of dental tools from Amazon to help get into fine areas of molding to scrape paint off. I told him about this and he got a huge kick out of it.

Dr. Rosenkrantz was one of a kind. My very best wishes to the family and to his staff and colleagues at the practice.

Our family is devastated to hear about Dr. Rosencrantz's passing.  He was our dentist for over a decade, and for our three boys for the past several years, and at every visit he made each of us feel like we were the person he most wanted to see when he walked into the room. 

Having children of similar ages and situations, we often compared notes, and it was obvious from talking to him how very much he loved his family.  Sending you all our deepest condolences. May his memory be a blessing. 



I was so saddened to learn of Dr. Rosenkranz's passing. He was an exceptional dentist, but more importantly, an exceptional human being. My wife and I saw him twice a year for about 10 years. I can say without the slightest exaggeration that this generous man made me happy just to see him and briefly chatt about my health and family.  To his family, your tragedy is enormous but what a blessing to have had such a man in your lives. Peace and love from the Purrinis.

I am so heartbroken to hear this news.  Dr. R. had been my dentist for over 10 years and he was an incredible person.  Always so warm and friendly and made you feel welcome.  My last appointment with him was on 6/23 and I nearly missed it, but I am grateful that I didn't.  Wishing his colleagues and family all the best during this time.  He was truly one of a kind.

I am so sorry to hear about this loss. Dr. Rosenkranz was such an amazing dentist to have. He was so personable, kind, and created an atmosphere of comfort and respect.  I have recommended him to so many people who also felt similarly.   During the covid lockdown, the crown in my front tooth fell out and I was missing a tooth while teaching middle schoolers on zoom. He called me personally to discuss the situation and supported me during a difficult time for so many.   Dr. Rosenkranz was so kind on the phone and supported me beyond my dental health.  

Please know that I am so thankful that he was my dentist and am sending love to his family and the people that worked with him.

Dr. Rosenkranz was a tremendous human being, and one whom many will never, ever forget. He touched so many lives- whenever and wherever the topic of medical professionals came up, his name was on the tip of my family’s tongue- stories shared and praises were sung about how amazing Dr. Rosenkranz was. However brief our interactions were at visits, he was hands down the most positive and uplifting person I have ever met. His joy was contagious and he had a way of making you feel better than when you came in- not just your teeth (though we all know his famous saying after a cleaning), but your spirit.  It is clear he touched many lives and we are all heartbreaking processing this loss. He is irreplaceable, but his memory will be a blessing and stories shared for years to come. If there is one thing we can take from this is to carry a bit more Rosenkranz with us in our daily interactions, to spread joy and positivity with those around us. My heart goes out to his family, this is such a devastating shock and he was so young and full of life. Please know he was an incredible man who left the world a better place than it was.

Dr. Rosenkranz was by far the best dentist I've ever been to, and his consistent good cheer and friendliness was so refreshing, endearing, and comforting. I know that as his patients we only experienced a very small part of who he was. But for so many of his patients to miss him, that says a lot about him. Sending condolences to your family during this tragic time. Dr Rosenkranz was always kind, knowledgeable, incredibly thoughtful and always went the extra smile or hello to make me and my family feel comfortable and welcome. He will definitely be missed. 

To his wonderful family, no words we say can bring him back but you should always be comforted in knowing how many people he had an effect on.  Not just for their teeth but his personality was electric, charming and just simply fun.   He had the same smile and personality with everyone and whenever waiting to go in, all you saw were people coming out in a good mood.  That never happens leaving a dentist office.  

If I remember one thing about summer, it was camp season which meant the kids were off, but that meant time with his wonderful wife.  I hope you are getting hundreds of loving and caring memories to remind you of how special he was.  We will all miss him.

This is such sad news. I used to post on Facebook after every dental checkup, gushing about what a lovely person Dr. Rosenkranz was, and everyone else I knew who was his patient felt the same way. I was just one of Dr. Rosenkranz's many patients, but he was so much more than a dentist. He was unbelievably kind, a joy to be around. My wife and I send out heartfelt condolences to his family.  We were shocked and saddened  to hear this terrible news. I have been a patient for over 10 years and he was always so pleasant and upbeat whenever I visited the office. He always greeted me with “hello neighbor”  as we live opposite his office and we often bumped into each other in the street. He will be dearly missed.

I was sad to hear of Dr. Rosenktanz's passing. I have a lot of phobia about the dentist and all of that disappeared when I started going to his practice. We pray for true comfort for your family.  Dr. Rosenkranz was a joyful and honest person. Another dentist at another place said I needed five cavities filled. When I mentioned this to Dr. Rosenkranz when I started going to his office, he said I didn't need any cavities filled. That built a lot of trust; he practiced his profession for the good of his patients.
