

Ellen Levine was a loving wife to her husband David, a devoted mother to her two daughters, Stacy and Lisa and a wonderful grandmother to her grandchildren, Drew & Maddie.
Ellen was born in Brooklyn in 1952 to Paul and Ann. She has a brother, Larry, who is four years younger. Their family moved several times during her childhood ending up in Far Rockaway. Ellen attended Far Rockaway High School. Their family had a love of animals welcoming several into their home. Ellen’s love of animals continued for all of her life. Their family also spent their summers at the beach. Ellen loved spending time there even well into her adulthood.
Ellen began her career as a paraprofessional to children within special education. She was dedicated to her job and really cared about her students. In her thirties she went back to Brooklyn College to get her BA in Education. During her career, she developed very strong friendships with her co-workers some of them becoming her closest friends.
Ellen cared deeply about her family. Ellen and David spent many years with one another. Together they spent a lot of time with their family which was important to them. Ellen checked in daily with her daughters, Stacy and Lisa and was available whenever she needed them. She told them that she loved them and how proud she was of them often. She taught them to be caring, kind and strong individuals.
Ellen enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, Drew and Madelyn. She loved being in their company and enjoyed watching them and being close to them. It was very special that she spent the last few weeks of her life in their company.
Ellen will be missed by her family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
A graveside service for Ellen will be held Sunday, November 24, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at King Solomon Memorial Park, 550 Dwasline Rd, Clifton, NJ 07012.
