Eveline Sergold

EVELINE LEIBO SERGOLD

February 15, 1932 – March 25, 2023

Eveline Leibo Sergold, also affectionately referred to as Mom and Gram, passed away peacefully on March 25, 2023, surrounded by her two daughters Audrey Levinson and Viviane Verstandig by her side, holding her hands. Eveline was beloved, and was admired for her warmth, compassion, integrity, her elegant fashion style, and sense of humor. Married for 43 years to Leon Sergold until his death in 1998, their marriage was one of true love, filled with adventures and laughter.

Eveline had a gift to make each person who met her feel cherished and appreciated. At 91, Eveline’s greatest joy was to spend quality time with each of her grandchildren, Adam Verstandig, Michael Verstandig, and Lauren Cutler, to listen to their goals and aspirations, and impart her life lessons to them; and to watch and admire her six great grandchildren, Caleb Verstandig, Julian Verstandig, Mila Verstandig, James Verstandig, Ruby Verstandig, and William Cutler. Her heart was always full when she had the opportunity to FaceTime with each of them. Her unconditional love extended to Debra Verstandig (Adam), Ilana Verstandig (Michael) and Ian Cutler (Lauren), and she saved a special place in her heart as well as profound respect for her son-in-law, Steven Verstandig.

Because Eveline lived by the philosophy of telling everyone how she felt about them, she imparted a special gift to the entire family in that we each knew how much she loved us. Her memory will always be in our hearts.

A funeral service for Eveline will be held Tuesday, March 28, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 2:45 PM at Schwartz Brothers-Jeffer Memorial Chapels, 114-03 Queens Blvd, Forest Hills, NY 11375. Following the funeral service will be a committal service from 3:15 PM to 4:00 PM at Mount Hebron Cemetery, 130-04 Horace Harding Expressway, Flushing, NY 11367.
