
Born on June 8th, 1928, in Brooklyn, he went to Boys High, Brooklyn College, and Brooklyn Poly. Irving was physical chemist by training and originally applied his knowledge to inventing chemical processes for paper treatment. He obtained 9 patents for these processes and produced electrolytic paper for the first facsimile machines.
He spent most of his career working for the American Institute of Physics but in his later years he decided to become a high-school math teacher, teaching in the NYC public high school system. He loved teaching math to all kinds of students and continued to do so into his eighties.
His hobbies included playing bridge, achieving the level of lifetime master, origami, and watching sports - especially baseball.
He is survived by his wife Felicia Lieblich and two sons David and Gerald Lieblich.
A funeral service will be held at Schwartz Brothers-Jeffer Memorial Chapels, located at 114-03 Queens Blvd, Forest Hills, NY 11375, United States. The service is scheduled for December 17, 2025, from 10:30 am to 11:30 am.
A committal service will follow at King Solomon Memorial Park, located at 550 Dwasline Rd, Clifton, NJ 07012, United States. This service will take place on December 17, 2025, from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm.
