Jack Ross

Jack Ross D.O. was born in Bucharest, Romania January 4, 1923 and passed at age ninety-nine on August 4, 2022. He immigrated to New York City in 1924 where he grew up and joined the military. He served in the army and was in the front lines of combat in World War II. After returning to New York City, he graduated from Columbia University as an Optometrist. He opened his optometry practice in Kew Gardens where he practiced for over forty years. He met his wife Dorothy, and they welcomed their son, Edward in 1956. Jack and Dorothy often traveled to Florida to spend time with Edward, his wife Anne, and their granddaughters (Emily and Ellyn). Being around his family and traveling the world with Dorothy brought Jack great happiness. He enjoyed his many years of retirement and had an excellent quality of life in his advanced years. He was happy, warm, and always had a joke to share with his family, friends, and community. His loving and kind nature will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him. He is survived by Dorothy, Edward, and his granddaughters Emily and Ellyn.

A graveside service for Jack will be held Sunday, August 7, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at New Montefiore Cemetery, 1180 Wellwood Avenue, West Babylon, NY 11704.
