Jennifer Permaul-Sugrim

With heavy hearts and unimaginable sorrow, we announce the passing of our beloved Jennifer Permaul-Sugrim on April 28th, 2025, after a brave battle with lung cancer. She left us peacefully, surrounded by those who loved her most, just as she deserved.

Jennifer was the kind of person you never forget. She had a laugh that filled rooms, a heart that embraced everyone, and a spirit that lifted even the heaviest days. She wasn’t just present, she showed up for people, wholeheartedly and without question. Whether you knew her as a wife, a mother, a daughter, a sister, an aunt, a cousin, a friend, or simply someone you met once, she made you feel loved.

She was the life of every party, the first to plan a celebration, and the last to leave the dance floor. She found beauty in the little things, from setting the table just right to making sure everyone left her home with full bellies and fuller hearts. She gave generously, listened deeply, and loved fiercely.

Her courage in the face of cancer was nothing short of extraordinary. Even as her body grew tired, her spirit never dimmed. She kept smiling, kept showing gratitude, and kept making sure we were okay. That was Jennifer, always thinking of others before herself.

Jennifer, your love was a gift to all of us. Thank you for everything. We will carry you in our hearts, always.

A visitation for Jennifer will be held Friday, May 2, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Forest Park Funeral Home, 114-03 Queens Blvd, Forest Hills, NY 11375. A funeral service will occur Saturday, May 3, 2025 from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Forest Park Funeral Home. Following the funeral service a committal service will be held at Nassau Knolls Cemetery in Port Washington, NY from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
