She is survived by her husband of nearly 48 years, William Garfinkle; daughter Stacey (fiancé, Kevin Miller); sister Ellen (husband, Robert Greenberg); niece Monica Greenberg; nephew Brian Greenberg (wife, Nicola Zheng-Greenberg); and grand-niece Morgan.
Linda was born on December 23, 1942, in Brooklyn, New York, to Beatrice and Philip Braverman. After earning a B.A. from Long Island University and a Masters in Education from Brooklyn College, she worked as a New York City public school teacher. Focusing on early childhood education and English as a second language, Linda enriched the lives of countless students over the course of her career.
A world-traveler, Linda collected mementos and stories from across the globe. An avowed animal lover, she enjoyed observing the wildlife surrounding her longtime home in Short Hills, New Jersey. She held a special place in her heart for her beloved miniature poodle, Perry.
Always someone to put the needs of others before her own, friends and family will remember Linda fondly for her kind, gracious, and loving nature. She will be dearly missed.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.sbjmemorialchapel.com for the Garfinkle family.
