

Mark was born in Manhattan, NYC on July 31st, 1954 to high school sweethearts the late Ana Mazursky and the late Bernard (Bernie) Samowitz. Mark was raised in Long Island City,NY along with his younger sister Rhonda where he attended elementary school, middle school and Long Island City High School he went on to graduate with honors in 1976 from City College of New York.
Mark is survived by his beautiful wife Marie and two children Ethan and Lori Ann both are members of the US Navy. His sister Rhonda, niece Briana and her husband Michael, nephews Alex and Reese. Mark lived an incredible, exciting and fulfilled life his loved for traveling took him to many places around the world where he experienced many cultures and cuisines and adventures. He was an accomplished business man in the NYC film and production industry, a black belt karate master, special education teacher and a production manager.
Mark was bigger than life he lived life to the fullest a light in every room he walked in, his generosity knew no boundaries and he helped every person he ever met. After a long and extended battle with Frontal Lobe Dementia “Alzheimer’s”. Mark (Moshe) Samowitz departed our earthy realm on April 24th, 2025.

A funeral service for Mark will be held Tuesday, April 29, 2025 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at Sinai Chapels, 114-03 Queens Blvd, Forest Hills, NY 11375. Following the funeral service will be a committal service from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM at New Montefiore Cemetery, 1180 Wellwood Ave, West Babylon, NY 11704.
