Dear Debbie and Heather
I am sorry i did not add a note sooner. Every time I would sit down to write a message Tracey would come into my mind and the tears would come. I will never accept our loss of someone so dear to us but I will learn to live with it. Nothing needs to be said about how much he loved you both. His kind and gentle heart will always be in my memory. Joans as well. All of my memories of Maurice are of his loving and caring for others. We were close growing up. I bought him his first baseball glove and took him to his first ballgame. We went to Ranger games together. What hurts me the most is the memories of all that he went thru with such dignity and grace. And just when everyone thought he beat it we lost him. I can go on and on about him forever. I love him and miss him. Always remember that Joan and I are here for you both should you ever need anything.
I always think of him and Tracey together watching Ranger games and waiting for the next Stanley Cup. That always makes me smile.

I will dedicate this message to my dearest Uncle Butchey...... from my first memories as a little girl.... I know how much you loved me when you and my dad searched high and low for the stupid squeeze bunny rabbit replacements after I had my tonsils out!! to bringing Aunt Debbie for me to love unconditionally (she liked the Rangers.... I had to learn), then for Heather.... who has grown to be the Rock of Gibraltar for all who need her.  You have been blessed with a great family who has loved you and always will forever.....  I will miss you.. 
Now that I have grown up, I will miss my Uncle Maurice more than ever...
As for Aunt Debbie and Heather, you are loved and you are not alone, we are all here for you, forever.....

I met Maurice when I was 16 1/2 years old and worked as a work-study student in the same Co. and Dept. as him. He was in his early 20's then.  He always expressed kindness to all co-workers.  He took the time out to explain things to me, since I was just learning.  He made many of us laugh.  I will always remember him to be a great, kind, caring person.  We are all blessed to have had him in our lives.

I have known Maurice Janus for over 10 years who served as the Board President of his Coop. He was an honest person who was always a pleasure to work with.we will all miss him and always remember him as someone who really cared about everyone.

My thoughts and prayers are with you. I am so sorry for the loss of your father. I know you were an amazing blessing in his life. May he rest in peace.

It was a grievous shock when we learned what happened. Maurice was our wonderful brother-in-law. He was devoted to his wife Debbie and daughter Heather. He was always kind and considerate and would go that extra step for the people he cared about. Hard to believe he is not with us anymore. We will miss him so very much.

I still find it hard to believe that Maurice is gone.  It seems like only yesterday that I spent the week with Debbie and Maurice when I visited in New York.  I will always treasure the time we spent.  We've known each other for the past 41+ years when we first worked at US Life.  I remember when the two of you started dating; your wedding; and the birth of Heather. He was a wonderful man, husband and father who adored his family.  He will be 
missed.  I send my love to you both.

I met Heather's dad only a few times back in college when he would drive to Oswego to pick up/drop on school breaks. Years later we saw Mr. Janus again this time in Queens when my husband and I came to spend a week with Heather. Even though we only met a few times, Maurice Janus and his heart of gold saved every Box Top and Campbell's Label he came across and mailed them to me when the envelopes filled up. His contributions have been huge through my 7 years of teaching, then 4 years of donating to my church's school and the local public school, and the past 2 years at my son's school (last year his kindergarten class won the collection prize of a pizza party due mostly to the 600+ Box Tops we sent in). It is so easy to put these labels in the trash but they kept coming in the mail, usually with a personal note to Cameron.

I wish I knew Heather's dad better, but what I did know of him showed what a great and loving man he was. He is remembered fondly with each label we clip; such little things give such a lasting memory.

Debbie and Heather:
It's taken me this long to write something.  I keep starting and re-writing what I want to say but nothing seems right. 
I had the pleasure to meet Maurice the first day he and Debbie arrived at their first apartment in "my" building.  What a sweet young couple.  
We spent the last 40+ years as friends.  They came to my wedding. We experienced good times and bad. The birth of our children, watched them grow into amazing adults. Loss of parents and other sad things.  Lots of fun and happy times too.
Maurice was the most wonderful man, a true gentleman, a wonderful husband to his beloved wife Debbie, and amazing dad to his wonderful daughter, Heather, who was the apple of his eye. 
My heart is still broken for the loss that Debbie and Heather, and his family and friends are going through. 
He was a wonderful friend who I will miss dearly.  
I know the last 2 years have been so hard on the family and pray they have some solace in the fact that he passed quickly and not in pain or suffering. 
I will always miss Maurice!  
I love you both and hope I can do anything to help you during this horrible time.

Dear Heather and deb, For many nights I have sat here thinking about what to write. How could I truly express my grief over the death of Maurice? Saying I'm sorry doesn't truly express it and I know that there has not been a word to exist that really captures the pain and sorrow of it all. The joy I would feel whenever we got together was unfathomable. He was man that was easy to be around and quick with a joke. And in my opinion the most skilled driver in the world to fit that car in that spot. It was an absolute honor to have known him and mine and as well as other people's life I am sure are to have such a charismatic, caring, and sincere man be involved in it. I am so sadden and shocked by the news of Maurice's passing. He was a good friend and a very kind and caring person.I'm so glad that I was able to see Maurice when I visited New York this past summer.I will always remember the good times we had together.Words alone cannot express the sadness I am feeling at this time. Dear Debby and Heather,

Why always the nicest, kindest and best people have to die early I will never understand. Life is certainly not always fair. 
You both have lost a great husband and dad. 

He was such a nice and kind person which makes Erwin and I feel very privileged to have known Maurice and at least have been able to spend time with him and have some great and fun memories like Maurice and Erwin going for a beer while Debby and I are going into Carter's hunting for baby-clothes, eating at this lovely Italian restaurant, meeting with the two of you in Manhattan and so on. We were so sure that next year we could do this again.

We cannot comprehend what it will be for you both to go on without Maurice and at times like this we would have loved to be living near you for giving some support.

Wishing you all the strength possible to cope in coming time and thinking and praying for Maurice and you.

Although I never met Maurice, my parents always spoke so highly of him. They told me he was a man of integrity, goodness, and a real family man, who adored his family. I am sorry I never got a chance to meet him. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

We were so sad to hear about Maurice. Although we did not see each other a lot in the past +30 years, we were still very much a part of each other's lives. Heather and Mom Deborah. I am so sorry on the loss of dad. He was such a great dad...dedicated, loving and hard working. You can take solace in knowing that he was married to a great woman and had a great daughter. We would nit have wanted anything different. Aunt Debbie, Heather - I'm sorry I could not make it today. My Love n Prayers are with you and all of our Family.  Please know how special Uncle Maurice was to me even though we didn't get to spend much of my adult life together.  I miss him but know he is in Heaven and will see him again there. A special Pray Request is being said in Uncle Maurice name at my church.
