Roslyn Edelstein, age 99, of Daniel Island, Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, passed away on October 17, 2024. She was the mother of Carol Keating, Arthur Edelstein, and Janice Olshever, 6 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren.
She was born in Brooklyn, NY, married Morris Edelstein, and moved to a house in Queens, NY which was still considered the boondocks. Her family thought they were crazy to be moving from Brooklyn to the end of the world in Queens. She worked as a secretary and bookkeeper--"proper" jobs for a woman growing up at that time.
When Mom could no longer live independently, she moved to an independent living apartment then to assisted living, and finally memory care in South Carolina.
She will be remembered for her love of life and of her children.
A funeral service will be held on October 22, 2024 at 10.30 a.m. at New Montefiore Cemetery in West Babylon, NY.
