It is with deep sorrow and much love that we announce the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother, Sandra M. Toporoff, who passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 11, 2025, at the age of 86 — poignantly, on Mother’s Day.
Sandra was a devoted wife to her late husband, Irwin Toporoff, whom she missed dearly. Together they built a life full of love, laughter, and family. She was a proud and caring mother to her three children: Bruce, Ruth, and Ellen, and a cherished grandmother to Adam, Sophie, Maddie, Laura, Logan, Hayden and Connor and great-grandmother to Charlotte, Eli and Archie. She delighted in showering her grandchildren with gifts, phone calls, and spirited advice on everything from politics to fashion.
A sharp mind with strong opinions, Sandra had a passion for finance — particularly gold coins — and never hesitated to share her thoughts. But more than anything, she simply wanted to stay connected and involved in the lives of those she loved. Her presence was a powerful force, and her absence will be deeply felt by all who knew her.
She is survived by her brother Donald Rosen and his wife Rhea Rosen, who meant so much to her and were devoted to her to the end.
Sandra’s legacy lives on in the strength and closeness of her family — a family she loved with all her heart.
A funeral service for Sandra will be held Thursday, May 15, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Parkside Memorial Chapels, 114-03 Queens Blvd, Forest Hills, NY 11375. Following the funeral service will be a committal service from 1:15 PM to 2:15 PM at Mt Zion Cemetery, 59-63 54th Ave, New York, NY 11378.
Shiva will be observed at the home of Ruth Toporoff and Michael Richman at 12 Alice Road, Mount Kisco, NY 10549. Thursday from 4:30 pm till 8 pm, and Friday from 1 pm till 7:30 pm.
