Trudy Edelman

Trudy Edelman passed away peacefully on March 1, succumbing to lung cancer which had metastasized to her brain. Her beloved and steadfast husband of 45 years, Richard Edelman , was at her side, as he had always been throughout all the happy years they shared together. In addition to Richard, she is survived by so many other loved ones who also adored her throughout her life: her best friend and sister, Abigail LaPan Stamou, Abigail's husband Telis Stamou, her sister Barbara Leibman, her sisters in law and brothers in law, Ronnie and Bart Fisher and Randee and Alan Schneebaum, her dear friends Raymond and Evie Stambouli, her many dear nieces and nephews and other family members and friends. She was predeceased by her cherished dogs, Foxy, Pancho, Spunky and Rocky.

Trudy lived her life with deep compassion and complete honesty. She also achieved professional success in the insurance industry before leaving that field to join Richard in growing their family business, Smiley's Yarn. Trudy and Richard were able to travel the world together sharing so many wonderful experiences as well. She leaves behind a legacy of love and will be deeply missed by all that knew her.

A funeral service for Trudy will be held Tuesday, March 5, 2024 from 11:30 AM to 12:15 PM at Schwartz Brothers-Jeffer Memorial Chapels, 114-03 Queens Blvd, Forest Hills, NY 11375. Following the funeral service will be a committal service from 1:15 PM to 2:00 PM at Pinelawn Memorial Park, 2030 Wellwood Avenue, Farmingdale, NY 11735.
