Alan was born on February 7, 1928 in Creelman, Saskatchewan to James and Lottie Webb. When he was 5, Lottie moved the children, here, in Fort Frances to join James, who had come to this area looking for work. As a young man he started a restaurant, Al’s Lunch before working for Cummer & Lindiquist. His father became the manager and the family purchased the business in 1950. The business became J.N. Webb & Sons and together his father, Alan and brother Darrell ran it. He retired in 1995, turning the business over to his sons Larry and Jay. He was united in marriage to June McKenzie on November 13, 1948. They loved being at the cabin on the lake together and he spent many happy days hunting. After the passing of June in 1988 he met Doreen Nixon, an old high school sweetheart, together they travelled and had many great years together. Alan was a long time member of the Royal Canadian Legion as well as AA. He was very proud to have received a 50 year chip. He was very devoted to his family, especially his grandchildren. He loved to watch them play in their various activities and never hesitated to spend time with them. He cherished every moment spent with them.
