Delores Antoinette Pollard

She was born on April 3, 1938 in Fort Frances, Ontario to John and Nettie Hubert. She was raised in Fort Frances, attending school here. She moved to Sioux Lookout as a young woman, starting her family there. She moved back to Fort Frances with her children. While in Sioux Lookout she worked as a caregiver at the Hostel. She enjoyed her time there; she often spoke about it with affection. After returning to Fort Frances she began working at Bartlett’s as a cleaner. She enjoyed traveling especially to Two Harbors, New Brunswick and Scotland. She was an active volunteer spending many years at the Bingo Hall, United Native Friendship Centre and the crafting group at Rose Manor. She loved making crafts, knitting and crocheting; each of her children and grandchildren were blessed with homemade items and handmade wool socks. Delores was a kind and generous person. If she saw someone in need she did everything she could to help them even when she went without.

Delores leaves behind her three daughters Debra Elias, Linda (Chris) Carmody and Nicole Pollard (Mike Tkachyk); grandchildren Jennifer (Jason) Carmody-Caul, Terry (Kristine) Carmody, Fawn Bowes, Jesse Bowes (Brittany), Jasmyn Elias, Sabrina (Logan) Miller and Matthew Vandrunen; great grandson Nolan Faragher; sisters Amy Fairgrieve, Jean Hartnell and Holly Mandryk as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents John and Nettie; son Thomas; brothers Peter, Jack, James, Mitchell, David and Bob; sisters Dorothy, Donna and Dixie.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, March 18, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances, Ontario with Pastor Ken Johnson officiating.

The honourary pallbearers will be her grandchildren Jennifer Carmody-Caul, Terry Carmody, Fawn Bowes, Jesse Bowes, Jasmyn Elias, Sabrina Miller, Matthew Vandrunen and Nolan Faragher.
