

She was born on August 26, 1949 in Fort Frances to John and Clara McPherson. She grew up in Couchiching First Nation, as a young woman she taught in Fort Albany. When she returned to Couchiching First Nation she worked as Band Manager before joining the staff of St. Michael’s School. Gladys was a long time member of the CWL. She loved to garden, listen to music and travel to Garden river and Rankin First Nations to visit family and friends.
Gladys leaves behind her daughter Annette McPherson (Jay); brother Eugene McPherson and wife Ria; sister Loretta Foran; sister-in-law Sharon McPherson as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents John and Clara; brother Lynn John McPherson and sisters Sue Anne Robinson, Rose Marie McPherson and Annette McPherson.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at 7 p.m. at Green Funeral Home. Parish prayers will be offered at 7:30 p.m.
Funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, Couchiching First Nation, Ontario.
The active pallbearers will be Christopher McPherson, Patrick McPherson, Mike Yuill, Randy Jones, Valley Calder and Rick Baker
The honourary pallbearers will be her nieces and nephews.
An Honour Guard will be provided by the Catholic Women’s League.
