Harvey Charles Joseph Vien

Harvey was born on May 17, 1946 to Joseph and Emelie Vien in Fort Frances, ON. Harvey lived here most of his life, working in the bush as a young man before joining the local papermill. He worked for Abitibi for 30 years before retiring as Lead Operator. He was united in marriage to Micheliane Gurniak on August 19, 1972 and together they raised 3 boys. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with family and friends.

He leaves behind his wife Micheliane; sons Corey, Wade and Jason; grandchildren Paige, Cody and Robin; siblings Sally Selman, Edgar (Bonnie) Vien, Doris Vien, Art (Pat) Vien and Leopold Vien; siblings- in-law Dennis Dymetri, Roxann Dustin, Joan Ronmark (Bob Crawford), Gail McTavish, Rob (Melissa) Gurniak, Dwayne Gurniak and David Gurniak as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Harvey was predeceased by his parents; sisters Jeannie Dymetri and Claudette (Lawrence) Badiuk, siblings-in-law Stanley and Doug Gurniak, Carl Selman, John Dustin, Rick Ronmark, Ed McTavish; mother-in-law Dorothy Tkachuk and father-in-law Mike Gurniak.

Funeral mass will be held on Thursday, February 1, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church with Father Alan Albao officiating. Interment will take place in the Holy Cross Cemetery.

Friends may visit one hour prior to the service.

The pallbearers will be Guy LaVallee, Adam Busch, Donnie Busch, Bruce Wreggitt, Dennis Lambert, and Steve LaVallee.

The honourary pallbearers will be his grandchildren.
