It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lawrence Kelly Jr. of Onigaming First Nation on Monday, November 2, 2020.
Lawrence was born on July 1, 1983 in Emo, Ontario.
He is survived by parents Lawrence Sr. and Brenda Kelly, brother Travis Kelly, daughter Khali Kelly, grandmother Corrine" Boochie" Kelly, maternal aunts Ronalda and Carol(Cliffton) and uncle Patrick Jr.(Lois), paternal aunts and uncles, Pam(Gus), Harry(Judy), Susan, James Jr.(Nancy), Lisa(Hazhu), Amy, Janice(Terry), Loretta(Ron) and numerous cousins and friends.
He is predeceased by maternal grandparents Patrick Kelly Sr. and Virginia Kelly(nee Blackburd), aunt Janice, uncles Rocklin Sr., Orval and Murray, paternal grandfather Jim H. Kelly, aunt Connie and uncles Rick and Clyde Kelly.
Lawrence had a funny sense of humour and greatly enjoyed making everyone laugh.
His hobbies included baseball, hockey, golf, fishing, slushy rides with his daughter, visiting with friends and family and watching the Toronto Maple Leafs and UFC.
He was a hard and dedicated worker and loved working as a heavy equipment operator at New Gold.
Through all his accomplishments in life, Lawrence was most proud of his daughter Khali and becoming a father was the greatest moment in his life.
He was naturally gifted at being a dad and would do anything for his daughter at a drop of a dime.
He was a brother to many and will be greatly missed.
Wake officiated by Elder Lawrence Henry will take place on Sunday November 8, 2020 at Onigaming Gymnasium and Traditional Services on Monday November 9, 2020 at 10 am followed by cremation.
Pallbearers will be Harold Brun Jr., Patrick Scott Kelly, Michael Jourdain, Jonah Kelly, Brennen Kelly, Trevor Copenace, Whitebear Copenace, Skylar " Princess" Jack.
Honourary Pallbearers are Patrick Kelly Jr., Travis Kelly, Waylon DeBungie, Shawn Kelly, Harry Kelly, Kyle Copenace, Tyson Kelly, James Kelly Jr.
