

It is with great sorrow, the family of Marilyn Shine, age 70, of 851 Colonization Rd. W., Fort Frances, Ontario, announces her passing suddenly on Thursday, July 21, 2011 at her residence.
Marilyn was born October 8, 1940 in Fort Frances Ontario, to the late Harry and Muriel Cooper. Marilyn grew up in Fort Frances and later worked at the McIrvine Grocery Store ,in the west end. On October 17, 1959 she was united in marriage to Leonard Shine. Along with raising her family, she also worked as a Care Taker at the T.D. Bank for many years until her retirement. Marilyn loved swimming at the pool and socializing with her friends there. She was always on the move whether in the water, rocking in a chair, swinging on a swing, or playing cards with her neighbours. She was well known for her buns, specially her cinamon buns, and for the occasional stiff drink. Marilyn loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, very much and enjoyed having lunches with them. The dogs were always looked after too, as she always had a treat for them, no one went without. Family and friends will forever miss her sense of humour and burst of laughter and will remember her "tell you how it is attitude." Marilyn will be missed very deeply by her family and friends.
She was predeceased by her mother and father, Muriel and Harry Cooper and one nephew, Sheldon Mosbeck.
Marilyn is survived by her husband, Leonard Shine of Fort Frances, ON.; daughter, Patti and husband Mark LaFleur of Devlin, ON., and son, Larry Shine and wife Kari of Dryden, ON., five grandchildren, Andrea and husband Travis Kennett, Jeff LaFleur and wife Amy, Kim LaFleur and friend Matt, and Joshua and Ashley Shine; four great grandchildren, Brooke, Derek, Tyler and Presley; two brothers, Rick Cooper and wife Myrna, and Dale Cooper and wife Mary, and sister Karen Mosbeck and husband Cecil all of Fort Frances, ON.; nieces and nephews, Christopher and Jennifer Cooper, Mark and Chad Buist, Neil and John Cooper and Barry and Duff Mosbeck; and many great nieces and great nephews.
Cremation has taken place at Rainy River Cremation Services in International Falls, Minnesota.
A come and go tea to celebrate Marilyn’s life will be held on Tuesday, July 26, 2011 from 2 until 4 p.m. at the Devlin Hall in Devlin, Ontario.
