Mary was born on December 25, 1932 in North Walsham, England to Frank and Joan Chittock. She grew up in England coming to Canada in the late 50’s. She settled in Ottawa and then made her way to British Columbia. It was an ad in a medical journal looking for Midwives that drew her to Fort Frances in 1965. She worked at the LaVerendrye General Hospital on St. Anne’s Maternity Ward for 21 years before moving to Rainycrest as the Director of Nursing. She retired in 1990. Mary loved living in Fort Frances especially at her cabin on Rainy Lake. She travelled the world and loved every mile of it. She was an avid reader of modern day mysteries
Mary was a much loved big sister of Jane Chittock and special friend Kate and the late John Chittock and Ann Amies. Thank you Mary for all the lovely memories we created with you. You will always be in a special place in our hearts and greatly missed.
