Peggy Frances Yerxa

It's with great sorrow and heavy hearts that the Yerxa family, sadly announces the passing of Peggy Frances Yerxa, 43, of 1014 Scott St., Fort Frances, Ont., formerly of Couchiching First Nation, Ont., on Monday, December 7, 2015 at her residence.

Peggy was born Nov. 14, 1972 in Fort Frances.

Peggy was a wonderful person with a loving heart who adored her children; Her daughters Cassandra, Ashley, partner William Mainville, Kayla and her only son Skylar. Her grandchildren Miigwan, Clayton, Morgan, Mariah, Makoonse, Bentley and Bessie. Although Peggy has struggled in her life with addiction she was nothing short of an incredible mother and loving grandmother. Her life's greatest treasure is her children. Peggy's life was filled with socializing, dancing, laughter and she loved the Fort Frances Canadian Legion. Her smile and laughter could brighten your day, she will be forever in our hearts.

She was predeceased by her father, Robert Yerxa Sr.; brother, Ron Yerxa; sister.; Judy LeGarde.; sister-in-law, Marlene Yerxa.; brother-in-law Clifford LeGarde.

Peggy is survived by her mother, Hilda Yerxa of Couchiching First Nation, Ont.; four brothers, Allan (Tracy) Yerxa of Couchiching First Nation, Ont., John (Pamela) Yerxa and Patrick Yerxa of Stanjikoming First Nation, Ont., and Robert (Chug) Yerxa Jr. of Couchiching First Nation, Ont.; and two sisters, Donna (Bill) Perrault and Sandy Yerxa, all of Couchiching First Nation, Ont.

Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.

A wake will be held Friday, December 11, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. at the Couchiching Multi-Use Facility. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December, 12, 2015 in the morning at the Couchiching First Nation Multi- Use Facility. Gilbert Smith will officiate followed by interment in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery on Couchiching First Nation.

The pallbearers will be Skylar Yerxa, Patrick Yerxa, John Yerxa, Robert (Chug) Yerxa, Vincent Yerxa, Ryan Morrison, David Yerxa, William (Bill) Mainville, William (Bill) Perrault, Derek Cochrane, Joe Cochrane and Stewart Kabatay.
