Riley Jourdain

Riley was born on March 27, 1935 in Fort Frances, Ontario to the late Samuel and Margaret Jourdain. He had worked as a supervisor for Human Resources Development Canada. He attended the University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario where he majored in journalism. He also graduated from Carleton University in Ottawa, Ontario with his Bachelors of Arts Degree. He enjoyed singing, playing the guitar, reading and was known for his sense of humour. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

He was united in marriage on May 8, 1971 to the former Josie Bruyere who survives along with their three children, Marty Jourdain and his partner Rosie Meekis and their children Reese and Jacey Jourdain, Jon Jourdain and his partner Destiny and their children Riley and Sienna Jourdain, Leela Jourdain (Lennox) and their children Isiah and Montana and step-daughter Cherish Machendagose and her children Tristan and Payton.

Also surviving are his siblings, Josephine Bruyere, Glen (Jenny) Jourdain, Raymond (Mary) Jourdain, Verna (Wayne) Rafn, Linda (Wilf) Morrisseau, Judy (Dennis) Perreault, sister-in-law Annabell Jourdain as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents Sam and Margaret Jourdain, siblings Bill and Russell Jourdain, nephew Jeffrey (Putsy) Bruyere and brother-in-law Raymond Bruyere.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 6, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Church at Couchiching First Nation. Reverend Mr. Bob Grynol will officiate followed by interment in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery.

Friends may visit Wednesday evening, September 5, 2012 from 7 until 9 p.m. at Green Funeral Home. Vigil prayers will be offered at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

The pallbearers will be Dennis Bruyere, Darren Morrisseau, Bradley Jourdain, Shane Jourdain, Grant Perreault and Doug Perreault.
