

Rosalyn Patey, age 63, of 24 Armstrong Place, Fort Frances, Ontario passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on Monday, April 25, 2011.
Rosalyn was born on November 26, 1947 in Meadows, Newfoundland to the late Cyril and Mary Brake. The family moved to Curling, Newfoundland where Rosalyn was raised and graduated from Highschool. Soon afterwards following her graduation, she was united in marriage to Carl Patey and they started a family. In 1977, they moved to Marathon, and Manitowadge, Ontario, before settling in Fort Frances in 1987. That same year she started working for George Armstrong Company where she worked for the past 24 years until her passing. The Armstrong family were considered a special family to her. At home, Rosalyn enjoyed knitting and crocheting, music and dance. She also loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing, and she especially loved the past few summers at Lake Despair with her family. Rosalyn left a lasting impression on all those whose lives she touched. Rosalyn will be dearly missed by her family and many friends.
Rosalyn is survived by her four children, Lorie (Cory) Labbe, Paul (Stacy) Patey, and Allison (Ed) Vold all of Fort Frances, ON., and Nicole (David) King of Garson, ON.; eleven grandchildren, Haven and Harley Labbe, Gregory, Brittany, Brooklyn Patey and Taylor Pagee, Cody, Nolan and and Lauren Vold, and Keira and Carson King.
She is also survived by four sisters, Matilda (Winston) Sooley, Phyllis (Dave) Sheppard, Vivian Brake, and Vera Blake all of Corner Brook, Newfoundland; one brother, Gordon (Valerie) Brake also of Corner Brook, Newfoundland; special friends Daphne Gouin and Danette McIntyre; and many nieces and nephews.
Cremation will take place at Rainy River Cremation Services in International Falls, Minnesota.
A memorial service to celebrate Rosalyn’s life will be held on Friday, April 29, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the Knox United Church in Fort Frances, Ontario with Reverend Diane Clifford officiating.
Interment will take place in Mount Patricia Cemetery in Corner Brook, Newfoundland.
Honourary pallbearers will be Cory Labbe, Ed Vold, David King, Stacy Caul, Shane Armstrong, Larry Armstrong, Jim Armstrong, James (Stubby) Armstrong and Bill Daley.
