Apostle Alice L. (Moss) Beneby is the 9th of 12 children born to the late Deacon Elisha Moss, Sr., and Mother Eula W. Moss in Hollywood, FL, August 30, 1950. She began her early childhood education at Carver Ranches Elementary School, matriculated to Lanier Jr. High School (Hallandale Beach) and graduated from Attucks High School Class of 1968 (Hollywood)—all part of the Broward County School System in Florida.
She was introduced to and taught Biblical standards by her mother, as the family had no choice but to attend Sunday School every Sunday at the House of God Miracle Revival Fellowship, Inc., under the leaders of Mother Sevilla Cook and Elder Johnnie L. Wilson. After graduating High School, Alice began working at Memorial Regional Hospital, Hollywood, FL, where she was gainfully and productively employed for 28 years in the Central Supply Unit. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and served faithfully and was a dedicated choir member under the leadership of Overseer J. Mortimer and Pastor Sallie Wilson.
After being joined in Holy Matrimony to the late Apostle George M. Beneby, they founded Street Church Ministries, Inc., in Davie, FL. As they obeyed the Lord’s command to “Feed MY Sheep,” every Sunday after Sunday School, for nearly 23 years the ministry conducted worship and soul-winning services at Delevoe Park in Fort Lauderdale, FL; twice a week at Dania Nursing Home, in Dania Beach, FL, three additional weekly services at the church (Sunday evening worship, Wednesday Bible Study and Friday Prayer Service).
In addition to caring for the local flock, Apostle Alice, with her husband, have appeared several times on the Trinity Broadcasting Network, traveled extensively throughout the United States and abroad preaching and teaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ. During their travels to Israel, she and her husband ministered the Lord’s Supper, performed baptisms in the Jordan River in Lebanon, distributed care packages to the Israeli soldiers on the West Bank, and prayed on the four quadrants of Israel at Jordanian, Syrian, Lebanon, and Mediterranean borders. She and her husband also did mission work in Haiti.
Street Church Ministries, Inc., was transitioned after 20 years to an “apostolic assignment” under the name of Mountain View Biblical Teaching Ministries International, Inc., in Plantation, FL. Apostle Alice also served with her husband as “Overseers” of Bridgetown Teaching Center in Willacoochee, GA, and Living Worship International Ministries, Inc., in Decatur, GA—being instructed by God to “teach and impart the Word of God to faithful men that shall be able to teach others”—based on 2 Timothy 2:2.
Apostle Alice has ministered in churches, synagogues, prisons, hospitals, and nursing homes. And for the last few years, she has ministered from her home, and ultimately from her bedside. She is a lover of the Word of God. One of her favorite scriptures is “I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul shall make her boast in the LORD: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad. O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together. I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.” Psalm 34:1-4
Apostle Alice Beneby served the purpose of God to benefit her generation; then she departed this earthly life and continued with her Savior to be with the saints in glory forevermore.
She leaves to cherish her memory two sons: George Nathan, Miramar, FL; Marcus (Nicole), Sunrise, FL; three stepsons: Keith (Elaine), Brent (Paullette) and Dexter (Christine); stepdaughter: Monique Edwards; three brothers: Elisha Moss, Jr., West Park, FL; Sidney Moss (Barbara), Miami Gardens, FL; Daniel J. Moss, Douglas, GA; two sisters: Hattie E. Sampson (Grover), Hollywood, FL; Brenda J.
